Valuing the creative process- past learnings & future intentions

XCHC has just turned 3, and while we take some time off over new years to reflect on 2017, we will also set new intentions on how we can do next year even better.

Because XCHC is made up by you, the creative community, it would be great to spend 1 night together of sharing what we (all) have learned about our own creative processes, particularly in this last year. In 2017 how were you affected by changes? Where do you feel vulnerable and what would excite you moving forward? Our intention for this event is to gain feedback, and share inspiration for how we can get the most out of 2018.

This year has been our busiest yet, and one thing that continues to come up in conversations is the common challenge of assigning value to our creative work, and how that affects the value others perceive. Christchurch has embraced creativity in the city, and we know this has only scratched the surface of the potential benefits of creative expression, and the extraordinary community that exists here.

We’ve decided to dive deeper and invited enthusiastic arts professionals to share experiences that were turning points in their creative lives. What helped them take ownership/value their creative process. We'll invite you to share yours if you’d like.

This is a casual event for us to share experience and open up a conversation on making 2018 an amazing year for ourselves, and for Christchurch, we would love to have you join us : )
